Hinkley residents get extension on PG&E buyout proposal

Staff Report – Inland Valley Daily Bulletin

Pacific Gas & Electric has confirmed that Hinkley residents will receive an extra 45 days to decide on whether to take a PG&E offer to purchase their property or elect to receive a whole-household water replacement system for their homes, officials said Monday.

The move gives residents until Oct. 15 to decide.

For decades, a toxic plume that has affected water has been an issue in the town.
