Hinkley Groundwater Draft EIR Public Workshop on Sep. 12 & 13, 2012

The Lahontan Water Board will be hosting a public workshop in Barstow, CA on September 12 and 13, 2012 to discuss PG&E’s Hinkley Compressor Station Draft Environmental Impact Report titled, “Comprehensive Groundwater Cleanup Strategy for Historical Chromium Discharges”.

Community Meeting on August 23, 2012

The CAC and the IRP Manager will be hosting a community meeting on August 23, 2012 at the Hinkley Elementary School. The IRP Manager will be available at 5p to answer and questions from the community.

Hinkley residents get extension on PG&E buyout proposal

Pacific Gas & Electric has confirmed that Hinkley residents will receive an extra 45 days to decide on whether to take a PG&E offer to purchase their property or elect to receive a whole-household water replacement system for their homes, officials said Monday.

The move gives residents until Oct. 15 to decide.

For decades, a toxic plume that has affected water has been an issue in the town.
